Description:The Finance/Grant Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting and grant support services in order to meet the needs of the organization and the donor. This position is responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, providing financial reporting and analysis in support of the ASSP field program in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This position is also responsible for the operations of post-award grant administration and related accounting duties. Working closely with the Program Officer, Chief Financial Officer and the Director of Program Implementation Support, the Finance/Grant Accountant will focus heavily on budgeting, compliance, reporting and variance analysis functions. This position is established to work in close collaboration with the Democratic Republic of the Congo country teams and accurately account for project costs, thoroughly analyze variances to budget and clearly communicate these results to management.
Duties:1. Perform grant-related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, reconciliations, re-budgeting and grant closeout functions required by Grants and Contracts Administration.
2. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to donors as required.
3. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on grants for internal management purposes.
4. Work with the CFO on cash flow forecasts for programs.
5. Review invoices and provide account codes, when appropriate, for proper project accounting.
6. Produce budget and expense analysis report.
7. Prepare and distribute periodic invoices for project reimbursement.
8. Work with Program Team Leader, Budgeting Officer and appropriate country office staff in the development of forecasts, budgets and budget revisions for programs.
9. Communicate monthly financial results with appropriate program staff, informing them of financial position of the project.
10. Coordinate with the Senior Accounting Manager to process journal entries to various projects if needed.
11. Ensure compliance of grants with IMA policies/procedures and donor rules/regulations, including USAID.
12. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis in response to requests or to provide support to various programs.
13. Train and provide ongoing technical assistance to field office finance staff and program partners on best practices for financial management systems in order to increase capacity.
14. Visit country offices in order to support financial management of grant-funded projects, conduct periodic compliance review of grant-funded projects, to include financial management overviews with field office staff and partner staff.
15. Coordinate the monthly review and reconciliation of cash accounts associated with IMA World Health Country Offices including receipt of monthly bank statements.
16. Prepare monthly reconciliations for IMA HQ advance accounts to country offices.
17. Support required audits in the field and at HQ.
18. Identify and recommend cost savings initiatives for program activities and the organization
19. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:1. BS Degree in Finance or closely related field plus 3-5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, preferably in the non-profit community, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
2. Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial managers.
3. Ability to analyze, evaluate and summarize financial records for accuracy and conformance to procedures, rules and regulations.
4. Familiar with accounting fundamentals.
5. Strong analytical, presentation, communication and problem solving skills.
6. Knowledge of federal grants and regulations typically acquired with three to five years related experience.
7. Capable of managing numerous simultaneous projects.
8. Knowledge and demonstrated experience with MS Office package software applications with advanced skills using Microsoft Excel.
9. Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to multi-task are essential.
10. International travel 10 � 25% required.
