| Description: | As a key member of the Business Development Team, the Senior Business Development Officer serves a leadership role as a technical writer and/or compiles proposal inputs for varied programs (including, but not limited to health systems strengthening, neglected tropical diseases, HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning/reproductive health, nutrition, HMIS/GIS, and/or organizational capacity building). S/he will ensure the highest quality of writing for all proposal sections that are prepared by other staff and/or technical experts. Working collaboratively with field-based colleagues and the Program Team, the Senior Business Development Officer will work throughout the proposal development process to conceptualize, draft outlines, conduct research, and write proposal sections, and ensure overall quality, consistency, and responsiveness of all elements of the technical proposal for public and private donors. The Senior Business Development Officer must be familiar with the process of responding to solicitations by U.S. government entities such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). S/he will also possess exceptional writing and editing skills and international health expertise. |
| Duties: | 1. Lead the technical writing for IMA proposal efforts.
2. Working collaboratively with field-based teams and representatives from the Program and Business Development Teams, provides leadership to conceptualize and write and/or compile proposal sections including technical and management approaches, work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, personnel, corporate capabilities, and other related graphics.
3. Participate/lead in proposal-related meetings.
4. Maintain regular communication with the Director, Business Development, Country Directors, VP for International Health Programs, and others within the Senior Management Team with regards to progress for specific proposal efforts.
5. Provide technical inputs for budget development as needed.
6. Participate/lead final reviewing and editing to ensure consistency of writing style and format as well as adherence to donor and IMA standards.
7. Promote the health portfolio and capabilities of IMA to existing and potential donors, partners, and prospective key personnel.
8. Contribute to strategic planning for IMA�s future development, growth and expansion.
9. Contribute/lead research and design and implementation of capture strategies for priority bids.
10. Conduct in-country information gathering trips as requested.
11. Support the capacity building of BD, Program, and field staff in best practices for proposal development.
12. Other business development duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | 1. A Bachelor�s degree in Global Health, Business, International Relations, or related field is required; Master�s degree preferred.
2. Demonstrated success in securing funds from USG donors, track record of writing winning USAID funded proposals.
3. Minimum 6 years of combined professional experience in the public health sector, project management, and proposal/grant writing for international development projects.
4. Understanding of global health priorities, strategies, and development approaches.
5. In-depth knowledge of USG regulations and requirements; in depth familiarity with other international donors preferred.
6. Proven ability to work with international and local partners, field leadership, technical experts, and other stakeholders in the design and implementation of health programs
7. Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, and verbal communications.
8. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines effectively, and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
9. Team player with ability to work with diverse teams.
10. Working knowledge of a second language preferred; French or Spanish is desirable.
11. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
12. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
