| Description: | The Vice President for Fundraising and Communications assists the President & CEO in accomplishing the Vision, Mission, and Strategic Objectives of IMA World Health. Primary responsibilities include fundraising and resource development; external communications; advocacy; cultivating and maintaining relationships with Member agencies, donors and other stakeholders; participating in the representation of the organization in various arenas; and serving as member of the Senior Management Team of IMA World Health.

| Duties: | A. Fundraising and Resource Development
1. Develop a sound, achievable, comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet the goals for unrestricted and private restricted fundraising set by the Board of Directors.
2. Manage, provide guidance to, and ensure accountability of IMA WH fundraising staff to implement fundraising plan. Ensure that the fundraising staff has clear and achievable objectives; the resources and institutional support needed to carry out responsibilities; and positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with counterparts in IMA.
3. Ensure that the fundraising strategy of IMA WH is adequately diversified and includes tactics in specific areas such as major donors, church based donors, individual donors, web based giving, foundations, corporate support, etc.
4. Collaborate with staff across the organization in order to ensure consistency in representing IMA WH to potential donors and other audiences.
B. Communications:
1. Develop a sound, achievable, comprehensive communications strategy to meet the goals for significantly raising the visibility of IMA World Health with key audiences.
2. Manage, provide guidance to, and ensure accountability of IMA WH communications staff. Ensure that the communications team members have clear and achievable objectives; the resources and institutional support needed to carry out responsibilities; and positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with counterparts in IMA
3. Present, as well as encourage and support colleagues to present, IMA WH Program results and achievements through speaking engagements, meetings with stakeholders (groups or individuals), churches, articles in professional journals, and other approaches.
4. Work with communications staff to develop communications and advocacy materials for technical audiences and key relationships, as well as general public and constituent relationships.
C. Advocacy/WWSO Coalition:
1. Develop a strategy for, and oversee advocacy staff to advance the �We Will Speak Out, US� coalition and the issue of reducing Gender Based Violence.
2. Manage, provide guidance to, and ensure accountability of IMA WH advocacy staff. Ensure that the advocacy team members have clear and achievable objectives; the resources and institutional support needed to carry out responsibilities; and positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with counterparts in IMA.
3. Work with advocacy staff to ensure a strong, consistent advocacy voice in a variety of strategic settings (InterAction, NGOs, USG, Congress, etc.) to advance IMA�s issue areas.
4. Collaborate with appropriate IMA staff and seek input from the VP for Programs and CEO to develop the policy agenda for IMA.
D. External Relationships:
1. Support the advancement of the IMA WH mission through the nurturing of existing relationships associated with current Program services and through the establishment and strengthening of new and current partnerships to enhance the role of IMA WH in health, and development work and the faith-based community.
2. Participate as appropriate in the representation of IMA WH in varied fora such as national and international conferences, partner and donor agency meetings, Member agency meetings, etc.
E. Internal Collaboration and Other;
1. Serve effectively as a member of the Senior Management Team.
2. Establish a comprehensive and timely planning and reporting schedule across the organization to undergird communications, fund-raising, and advocacy strategies.
3. Conduct the Annual Performance Appraisals for supervised staff.
4. Undertake appropriate domestic or international travel to accomplish the responsibilities of the position.
5. Other duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Post-Graduate degree that contributes to the fundraising and communications of major international health organization.
2. Minimum ten years experience in fundraising and communications.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
1. A proven record of strong interpersonal and team leadership skills, preferably leading an external relations (fundraising or communications) staff team.
2. Demonstrated communication skills and experience in developing strategic partnerships with a diverse network of donor and partner organizations
3. Proven track record in proposal development and successful resource mobilization in support of international relief or development with major donors (USG, World Bank, and others). Working knowledge of USG grant regulations. Successful resource mobilization for major international health programs preferred.
4. Excellent English skills, written and oral.
5. Experience in working with a multicultural workforce with sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences
6. Appreciation for and willingness to commit to the corporate mission of IMA WH as a service arm for health and development agencies of U.S. Protestant denominations.
7. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to carry out responsibilities.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
1. Appreciation for and understanding of socio-cultural, health and development issues, trends and challenges in the regions where IMA WH programs are established or emerging.
2. Proven proficiency in a second language applicable to IMA work (French or Spanish).
3. Communications or resource development experience within the context of a faith-based organization.
